Our commitments to the communities where you serve
AI has an environmental footprint. That is why CoVet is built to use AI efficiently, run on responsible cloud infrastructure, and reduce avoidable impact wherever we can.

Our values, aligned with yours
Veterinary teams care for animals, people, and the communities around them. The tools that support that work should do the same.
CoVet is committed to helping veterinary teams work more sustainably — not only by reducing administrative burden in the clinic, but by making careful choices about the technology, infrastructure, and programmes behind the product. Our approach is grounded in three commitments.
- 01Efficient AI on responsible infrastructureNo foundation-model training in everyday use. Pre-trained, efficient models running on Google Cloud.Read more →
- 02Less waste in the product itselfBuilt around real veterinary workflows, not unnecessary automation. Only as much compute as the task needs.Read more →

We use AI efficiently on responsible infrastructure
Most of CoVet's AI use happens on demand, when a veterinary team asks the product to complete a task.
CoVet does not train large foundation models as part of everyday product use. Instead, we use pre-trained models and run AI when it is needed to support a veterinary workflow.
That matters. Training large AI models can be energy intensive. By avoiding model training in routine use, choosing efficient models, and running on Google Cloud, CoVet helps reduce the environmental impact associated with everyday AI-assisted work.
Google reported that a median Gemini text prompt used - tap a figure to see what that means:
That is a small amount per individual interaction. Even small impacts deserve attention at scale.
Lower PUE means less energy is spent on cooling and operations, and more goes directly towards useful computing.
Customer data residency, security, reliability, and performance come first. Where feasible, CoVet also considers regional carbon-free energy availability and prefers regions with stronger clean-energy profiles.
We reduce waste in the product itself
Sustainability isn't only about where technology runs. It's also about how that technology is designed. CoVet is built around real veterinary workflows, not unnecessary automation — records, visit summaries, client communications, and administrative tasks — while limiting avoidable compute.
- Focused promptsWe keep every prompt focused on the task at hand.
- Fewer tokensWe limit unnecessary token use rather than padding requests.
- Right-sized modelsEfficient models handle routine workflows.
- On demand, not always onAI runs when your veterinary team needs it, not continuously.
- Deep reasoning, sparinglyMore advanced models are reserved for tasks that genuinely call for them.
The goal is simple: give veterinary teams useful support without relying on AI any more than necessary.
Environmental partners in the communities we serve
CoVet exists to support veterinary teams and the communities around them. That includes the local environments where animals live, clinics operate, and care is delivered every day.
We're building a network of local environmental partners across the communities CoVet serves, directing a portion of proceeds from new subscriptions to support meaningful work in those areas.

CoVet Partners with Rewilding Britain to Support Nature Recovery Across the UK
CoVet has partnered with Rewilding Britain to support locally led nature recovery across England, Scotland, and Wales. A percentage of revenue from UK individual subscriptions will help fund rewilding projects focused on habitat restoration, species recovery, communities, and marine ecosystems.
Learn MoreThese programmes are intended to reflect the same values veterinary professionals bring to their work: stewardship, responsibility, and care for the living world around us.
