About VetFiles integration with CoVet
Overview
The VetFiles integration imports your VetFiles appointments as cases and exports your notes back into VetFiles, so each case stays tied to the right patient.
VetFiles activates CoVet for your clinic and issues a connection token before you begin. You enter that token in CoVet, match your team members to their VetFiles provider profiles, and choose how imported appointments are named.
How does it work?
Appointment import. Your VetFiles appointments come into CoVet as cases, so the patient and visit context is there before you start documenting.
Note export. Finished CoVet notes export back into VetFiles against the same patient the case came from.
Token-based connection. VetFiles issues a connection token for your clinic. CoVet validates the token during setup - an inactive account returns an error rather than connecting.
Provider matching. Assign each CoVet team member to their VetFiles provider profile so appointments are assigned and exported notes attributed correctly.
Case naming. Review and customize how imported appointments appear in your CoVet case list.

How to get connected
- Contact VetFiles to request CoVet activation for your clinic and obtain your connection token.
- In CoVet, open My Account → Integrations/Connections, click the Vet-Files tile, and select Connect.
- Review the setup information covering limitations and expectations.
- Enter the connection token provided by VetFiles.
- Match your CoVet team members to their VetFiles provider profiles.
- Review and customize how imported appointments are named, then complete setup.

- A paid CoVet subscription - the VetFiles integration is not available during the free trial.
- CoVet activated for your clinic by VetFiles, with a connection token issued.
- A list of your VetFiles provider profiles to match against CoVet team members.
